I began training with Thomas over ten years ago and at the time I believed the only thing I needed to change was how I physically looked. Through this roller coaster journey called life i began to realise that wasn't the only thing i needed to change. Struggling with poor mental health for some time made me I realise that i needed to take some personal responsibility & with having the guidance, support & advice of Thomas & The Change Girls i began to set goals, form new connections & challenge myself to take part in things that took me outside my comfort zone but most importantly work on my mindset. After nearly 4 years out of work due to my poor mental health.I decided i needed to challenge myself one step further and i started to enrol on short courses & apply for jobs within mental health services until I was successful. Having a purpose & being able to help others in ways that The Change Programme has helped me, is something im very grateful to be able to carry forward. At times i struggle to find a balance in life just like many others do but i cant emphasis the feeling i have when i return back to group, the acceptance & warm welcomes make me realise these are my people. The Change Programme is not just a gym where i go to make changes physically but it a place i learn & create opportunity to become a better version of myself. I am a mummy of 2 teenage daughters who have grown up luckily being exposed to the things i have been learning through my Change journey.I'm so very grateful for the experiences i have had alone with the group but I'm even more grateful for the experiences, connections & memories we as a family have had with the change programme. Seeing all our families together on our days out really makes me smile these children are the next generation of Change.. And I hope we as a group we inspire them to carry forward change in our communities for future 💜

I got involved with the Change Programme while scrolling on Facebook, there was a video of women exercising in their houses because of the Covid pandemic and I thought yea I think could do that. I sent a message to the page and Ta contacted me. When I think of how I was when I started it’s where I recognise the true change in me, in every aspect of my life. I was always waiting on the fall, the end, the time when I’d give up and say no I can’t do that. At the beginning Ta taught me how to be inspired without comparing myself to the others. The girls inspired me mostly because they didn’t judge me, I learned that failing was good and to concentrate on the things that I could do rather than the things that I couldn’t and they taught me to stop saying no I can’t. Fast forward 3 years, I’ve made so many friends, people who I’m close to, I’m up every morning at 5.15am, I train for me, I lift weights for me, I walk for me, I’m a non smoker for me, I have gratitude for the life I have for me, I’m able to say yes to new experiences for me. Ta has guided me on how to improve my every aspect of my being, physically, mentally, spiritually, he has given me tools to develop a love and appreciation for myself, which has transformed the roles in my life, with so much to look forward to. At 44 I’m loving this version of myself, I’m striving to become the very best I can be. At CHANGE We have climbed mountains, skidded down hills, rowed rivers, swung in hammocks, ran marathons, we dance and laugh in the mornings, we love a wee scare 😂 I’m surrounded by a community of strong women 💪 of all ages and abilities, with shared experiences who live real lives, some of the funniest & most beautiful humans there is 💜💜 Team C.H.A.N.G.E 💜💜
